The workshop in Yxhult where Wolfgang Nordwall was beaten to death by American spies in 1944. According to appendix 1946:14-8 in professor Oppenheimer's CIA file, Wolfgang just about finished the first atomic bomb.

This vehicle – Opel Kapitän 1938 belonged to Adolf Birger Nordwall. My father. There was a bearskin pelt in the backseat. This was fortuitous since the vehicle often ran into unexpected difficulties. On the dreadful roads between Borås and Strömstad during the 1940's in Sweden, the car was almost always struck by stone chips and gravel. The hardened glass windshields (nowadays windshields are laminated – unbreakable) in both windows were crushed into dust and jeopardized the eyesight of both mom and dad and consequently everyone in the car. Usually we would spend a few hours in Uddevalla to fix these trifles and have some ice cream. Dad would swear but was somehow happy anyway. Adolf Birger's style of swearing was artistic. This creative frame of mind, who unfortunately spent too much time with business and management, would curse in a standard way ahead and beyond of Anders de Wahl. E.g. damn would be composed of at least three (3) vowels. Hence daaamn, with a powerful melody, basically turned into segments from a Bach fugue.

Adolf Birger had traditionalist standards. This meant that by and large tassled garters and liberals had bounty on its head. Throughout my life I've sought to adjust to modernity, but was for the most part unsuccessful. Thank goodness.

Adolf Birger favoured Germans, yet not Nazis. He regret some things after the war and joined the Swedish-Soviet Association. Only to be able to carefully study Cossack dancing with me. As a matter of fact he could, while squatting, actually dance like a Cossack. Although partner dancing was not fit for a hero like him.

Adolf Birger didn't abuse his children. Didn't even raise his hand. This made my sister Anita and I love him dearly.
